Restoration Services, Inc. recently purchased a 1.3-acre tract of land from the Community Reuse Organization of East Tennessee. Though the company eventually plans on building its headquarters nearby, it is preparing for the move by constructing a large solar farm, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel.

"As an environmental company, most of our staff has a passion for renewable energy in their everyday lives, so turning brownfield acreage at a site like [this] into beneficial reuse resonated with us and our employees," spokeswoman Yvette Cantrell told the news source.

It's important for contractors looking to go green find ways to do so beyond the materials used in a project. At IronPlanet, the equipment stays on the seller’s lot until the buyer picks it up. Sellers save unnecessary and costly transportation costs, and the environment saves on sparing the air from unnecessary pollution. Those hoping to land construction jobs in the coming year may want to ensure that their construction equipment is ready for the work. With IronPlanet, finding items like bulldozers, compactors and dump trucks is easy.
