The Board of Regents at Texas A&M has approved the budget for a multitude of new construction projects, including a $120 million expansion and renovation of a current building, reports The Eagle.

The key component of the new construction budget is the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, which will be completely revamped. The college's Small Animal Hospital will also be getting a major expansion. The school says that an increased interest in veterinary medicine is prompting the addition, along with the need to repair the run-down current building.

"The building will be one of the largest construction projects in the history of the university, which speaks volumes about the importance veterinary medicine plays in our state's economy, as well as in our daily lives," Texas A&M President R. Bowen Loftin told the news source.

Other construction projects approved by the university for this year include a new physical education center worth $21 million, and a combined $18 million to be spent renovating two other buildings on campus.

Winning a contract for construction at a university can be a major windfall for construction company owners, but they'll need the right equipment to get the job done efficiently. The online auction website IronPlanet allows contractors to bid on a wide variety of used construction equipment backed by full inspection reports.
