Multifamily real estate developer Wood Partners has announced that construction has begun on a new $32.4 million luxury apartment community in Houston's Westchase District.

The new complex will house 256 units and a number of community elements, such as two courtyards, a pool, an outdoor kitchen, fitness center, bar, and much more. Each unit will feature granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, in-wall iPod docks, a washer and dryer and much more. Studio, one- and two-bedroom options will be available.

"We love the location. We're at the southern entrance to one of the nicest neighborhoods in town," said Todd Gaines, Wood Partners development associate. "The site is minutes from major employment centers in the Westchase District, the Galleria and the Energy Corridor, which makes it very attractive for a multifamily project."

While other cities around the country have lost jobs during the recession, Houston has actually experience a 2.6 percent increase in employment, making new housing a necessity.
