Time to Sell? Don't Stress - Use IronPlanet Technology

Posted by IronPlanet on Oct 4, 2016 5:26:00 PM

So you're thinking of selling the old Cat crawler tractor. You could take pictures, email all the people you know, put an ad in the paper and online, field phone calls, be available to show it, negotiate a deal, then hang around the day the truck is supposed to come and take it away.

Or, with one call, you could use the power of technology to gain top dollar for your item. Just tell the people at IronPlanet that you're ready to sell, then let the professionals take care of all the details for you, from evaluating and photographing the item to spreading the word far and wide via our extensive email lists and the interwebs.

IronPlanet will be in Kissimmee, Florida from February 13-17, 2017, and we are animals when it comes to selling your equipment for the highest price. Last year's event broke records:

  • More than 1,100 registered bidders onsite;
  • Online attendees topped 100,000 people from 175 countries;
  • Equipment received bids from buyers in 48 countries;
  • More than 2,350 items sold for $93.8 million in gross merchandise volume.

All you need to do is give us a call to get the ball rolling. Operators are standing by.

Here’s how to sell on IronPlanet:

We price and inspect your item

Give us a call and we’ll discuss your selling needs. Once we've got all the information, one of our certified inspectors will come to you to photograph and inspect your equipment.

We market your machinery and sell it

Prior to the auction, IronPlanet publishes the inspection reports and pictures online, and your equipment is marketed to buyers around the globe. Since our inspection reports are guaranteed and backed by our IronClad Assurance, buyers can purchase with confidence, knowing what we publish online is true and verifiable.

On auction day

The professional and knowledgeable staff at Cat Auction Services holds the auction, with bids taken in person and online.

The buyer will deposit the payment to our secure bank account and arrange for the shipment of the machinery. Once the buyer has confirmed that its condition is the same as what was written on the inspection report, we will process the deposit and you will receive the payment.

Here’s a few points you also need to know:

  • You do away with transportation costs and refurbishment fees.
  • Selling is easy and fast.
  • We offer flexible contract options customised to the needs of each seller.

IronPlanet will guide you through the whole sales process – and this includes payment and post-auction transfer. We frequently advertise in popular trade magazines, as well as on Google and other industry websites. We also email those who have expressed interest in your machinery before the auction. In September alone, our auctions drew a total of over a million attendees, both online and in person.
