A $94 million streetcar construction project in Atlanta is now underway thanks to the efforts of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and Mayor Kasim Reed. According to The Associated Press, the two believe this project will bring a great increase of tourism to the city, as well as provide a number of jobs to locals.

Current plans have the 2.6-mile streetcar route running through a number of major attractions in the city of Atlanta, including the CNN Center, the Georgia Aquarium and the historic Auburn Avenue district. Even in its early stages, supporters are hoping the streetcar route could be a sign of larger movements toward a region-wide transportation network.

Such a significant project will require high-quality construction equipment to be completed on time. Atlanta officials in charge of building the route may want to check out IronPlanet's marketplace and search for used construction equipment. With detailed inspection reports and a variety of items - including bulldozers, backhoe loaders and dump trucks - they may find exactly what they're looking for at an entirely reasonable price.
