A major construction project is underway on U.S. Highway 75 in the Dallas/Forth Worth region. Although nothing major has been done, the preliminary stages of work are starting to show up. Orange flags and cones are being laid down to designate the restricted area to tourists, and the heavy lifting should begin in a few weeks, according to Pegasus News.

The current plan is to widen the highway in order to accommodate the rapid population growth that has occurred in the surrounding area. The $106 million project will add eight additional lanes, plus six frontage roads, when completed.

"Frisco and McKinney are two of the fastest growing cities in the nation, and the challenge to meet transportation needs has never been greater," Barry Heard, an interim area engineer for Collin County, told the news source.

Major highway construction can prove to be quite inconvenient for commuters, which is why it will be important for workers to get the job done as quickly as possible. By searching through IronPlanet's marketplace, they can find quality used construction equipment to help finish on time and within budget. Many items come with detailed inspection reports that help assure potential buyers they are receiving exactly what they see on the auction page.
