One of the more anticipated construction projects in the country is the Circuit of the Americas track in Austin, Texas, as the racing course is scheduled to host the world-famous F1 series this November. However, officials recently revealed that the project has been delayed due to heavy rain in the Austin area.

"We're probably looking at a week, week-and-a-half [delay]," Scott Kahler, senior superintendent for general contractor Austin Commercial, told the Austin American-Statesman.

Fortunately, Kahler says the schedule for the track has been structured to include the possibility for delays. The goal is to have the building completed by August, which would give the F1 organizers a chance to inspect the track ahead of the race on November 18th.

Although heavy rain has delayed the construction for the time being, Kahler says that dry weather over the next few months will give his construction crew room to make up the lost time.

Working on a major project such as a race course requires some heavy-duty equipment, such as concrete mixers and excavators. Contractors who are looking to save themselves some money compared to buying this equipment new may want to search IronPlanet, which offers a wide range of used construction equipment for just about every price range. The equipment is backed by IronClad Assurance, which allows potential buyers to view a full inspection report before they bid, ensuring they know exactly what they're getting.
