The numerous construction companies working on the expansion of the Green Bay Packers' famous Lambeau Field recently signed an agreement to keep the work as safe as possible, reports Packers.com.

The 46 different companies involved in the project signed the agreement, which was spearheaded by the Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Massive projects such as the Lambeau expansion often result in injuries and potentially even fatalities, according to OSHA, so it was important that all the groups were on the same page in making safety a top priority.

"Everyone has to have a set of eyes toward safety on a job like this," said Frank Winningham, area director for Wisconsin's OSHA branch. "We'd much rather come out and be involved in a partnership than come out to inspect an accident or fatality."

The construction for the stadium began at the end of the 2011 season and has unexpectedly continued through the winter thanks to the mild weather Wisconsin received this year. The goal is to have two new high-definition video boards in place for the 2012 season, while a 6,700 seat expansion will be in place for 2013.

High-profile jobs like Lambeau Field require construction companies that are committed to safety, excellence, and keeping costs from spiraling out of control. One way to do this is to buy used construction equipment on IronPlanet, which is typically cheaper than buying new. The site's detailed IronClad Assurance inspection reports allow buyers to know exactly what they're getting.
