On March 14, IronPlanet will be hosting one of its Featured Auctions, which will include more than 500 used construction equipment items. Individuals with an interest in purchasing a piece of equipment are able to place a Priority Bid on any of the items listed in the auction prior to it beginning. This may give potential buyers a better chance of winning an item over other bidders. If a person chooses to place a Priority Bid, IronPlanet will keep him or her up to date on their placement in the auction and whether or not someone has outbid them. Some of the items individuals can place bids on include used aerial work platforms, backhoe loaders, compact track loaders, excavators and crawler tractors.
Used crawler tractors
There are several different types of of used crawler tractors that will be available in the March 14 Featured Auction. A number of them have been inspected by IronPlanet's IronClad Assurance team, who review the interior and exterior of the items to make sure the buyer is up to date regarding all of the equipment's features. The 2001 Caterpillar D4C XL Series III Crawler Tractor available in the auction includes an open operator station, lever steering controls, a Caterpillar 3046 engine, hydrostatic drive and 18-inch track shoes. The 2006 Caterpillar D5N LGP Crawler Tractor is accugrade ready and comes with an enclosed cab, heating and air conditioning, finger tip steering controls, a ripper control system, a Caterpillar 3126 engine, powershift transmission and 30-inch track shoes. The 2005 Komatsu D39PX-21 Crawler Tractor has a number of features including a single cylinder tilt, open operator station, 4-cylinder engine, hydrostatic drive and 25-inch track shoes.
Used excavators
Another popular item that will be available during the Featured Auction are used excavators. A number of the excavators have been inspected by the IronClad Assurance team. Each of the items have several important features. The 2006 John Deere 240D LC Track Excavator has an enclosed cab, heating and air conditioning, a John Deere six cylinder engine, 31.5-inch track shoes and a 52-inch tooth bucket. The 2008 Caterpillar 301.6C Mini Excavator available during the auction includes an open operator system, a control pattern changer, three cylinder engine, 9-inch track belts, a swing boom, auxiliary hydraulic plumbing, a manual quick coupler, a straight blade and a 16-inch tooth bucket. The Kobelco SK27SR-3 Mini Excavator comes with a Yanmar 3TNV82A-S engine, an open operator station, a control pattern changer, 12-inch track belts, auxiliary hydraulic plumbing, a manual quick coupler, a 12-inch tooth bucket and a manual thumb.
Used compactors
There will be several used compactors available in the Featured Auction on March 14. Some of them have been inspected by IronPlanet's IronClad Assurance team. The 2005 Caterpillar CS-563E Vibratory Single Drum Compactor available features a smooth drum, 23.1-26 tires, a Caterpillar 3056 engine and an open operator station. Another item that will be available is the 2005 Ingersoll-Rand SD-100F TF Vibratory Single Drum Compactor, which includes an open operator system, a Cummins 3.9L engine, 84-inch padfoot drum and 23.1-26 tires. The 2004 Ingersoll-Rand SD-100D TF Vibratory Single Drum Compactor has an 84-inch smooth drum, a Cummins B3.9-125C engine, an open operator system as well as 23.1-26 tires.
