Offering a slew of innovative amenities, the Cat 299D2 XHP appears to be nothing if not high-tech. One of the track loader’s main features is its state-of-the-art, pressurized operator station with adjustable air-suspension seating, rear view camera access, and integrated Bluetooth functionality. Owners will also find an advanced, full-color, 5-inch LCD display monitor on board, which controls all of the machine’s adjustables, including creep-control speed, ride-control-activation speed, language preference, and gauge layout.

According to Cat, this year's release is striving to achieve maximum efficiency without sacrificing power. It boasts 11 to 12 hour run times via a 58.1-gallon fuel tank, an adaptable hydraulic cooling system, and battery disconnect to minimize drain and provide extra security. To accommodate hazards inherent with its intended workload, owners will also find special seals, covers and deflectors that help restrict debris from entering the engine compartment or building up on components. Caterpillar hopes these features will result in an easier-to-maintain machine which still packs enough punch to cut through any vegetation in its way, all day long.
