IronPlanet appoints tech-oriented vice president

IronPlanet has appointed Ken Calhoon to the position of vice president for data analytics and machine learning.
Calhoon, who holds an alumnus of Stanford University and holds an MBA from Harvard University, has more than 30 years of experience in the technology sector.
In his new role, Calhoon will be responsible for increasing IronPlanet’s analytics and artificial intelligence efforts in a bid to further expand its data-driven technology platform.
Commenting on the appointment, Matt Ackley, chief marketing officer of IronPlanet, said: “Data science and analytics [are] foundational to building efficient marketplaces and providing our valued customers with the bestsolutions to meet their varied heavy-equipment needs.
