AEMPAC hosted its annual Academy Awards Night Gala at the Terranea Resort near Los Angeles, Calif.On November 8, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers Political Action Committee (AEMPAC) hosted its annual Academy Awards Night Gala at the Terranea Resort near Los Angeles, Calif. IronPlanet's Ron McClain volunteered his services to help the committee raise over $71,000 in ticket and auction sales. The live auction featured items donated by Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) members.

The funds raised will prove very useful in the coming year as congress is set to debate critical issues important to the equipment manufacturing industry.”
One popular item on the auction block included a 2013 Milwaukee Brewers game with Glen Tellock, chairman, president and CEO of The Manitowoc Company, Inc., in the Manitowoc suite. The twelve tickets, four parking passes and food and beverage went for $3,500. Travel packages were also very popular. IronPlanet donated a two-night/two-day shooting package for four at Big Oak Plantation, south of Atlanta, Ga., which fetched just over $2,000. Kondex provided an exciting weekend package to New Orleans; Terex contributed a New York City getaway while Sierra Machinery graciously offered four nights on beautiful Lake Tahoe.
Bidders had an opportunity to watch artists place the finishing touches on several pieces of art throughout the evening.In addition to the auction, attendees networked with business leaders from across the industry while enjoying fine food and drink, fun activity stations and live entertainment. All proceeds from the gala help AEMPAC support candidates for federal office who pursue governmental policies that promote a favorable business climate for AEM and the equipment manufacturing industry.
Next year’s Academy Awards Night Gala will take place in November in Orlando, Fla. More information will be posted on the AEMPAC website at aempac.com, as it becomes available.
