Recently named among the fastest-growing trade shows in the U.S. by Trade Show Executive magazine, The Rental Show returned to Las Vegas this year, February 10 – 13, at The Sands Expo and Convention Center. The trade show portion of the event has been sold out since November of last year, with over 250,000 square feet of exhibit space.

Informative seminars on customer service, business management and leadership began on Sunday, February 10, while the exhibit floor opened Monday. IronPlanet participated as an exhibitor and experts in heavy equipment and used equipment values were on hand to speak to thousands of show attendees.

IronPlanet recently liquidated $6.08 million of gross merchandise volume for Western States Contracting of Myton, Utah.

“This was our biggest sale ever with IronPlanet,” said Weston Adams with Western States Contracting. “We had some very specialized equipment in this auction and we were able to get a lot more than we expected for it. IronPlanet knew the equipment and where to find the buyers. They went above and beyond, working really well with our mechanics and our entire team to make this sale a success. We are very pleased with the result.”

On November 8, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers Political Action Committee (AEMPAC) hosted its annual Academy Awards Night Gala at the Terranea Resort near Los Angeles, Calif. IronPlanet's Ron McClain volunteered his services to help the committee raise over $71,000 in ticket and auction sales. The live auction featured items donated by Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) members.

IronPlanet®, a leading online marketplace for used heavy equipment, will host an online auction Dec. 5, at www.ironplanet.com, featuring over 200 items being liquidated by the Utah division of Western States Contracting of Myton, Utah.

The auction includes late model equipment commonly used in the oil and gas, land development, pipeline and other heavy construction industries. Large dozers from Caterpillar and Komatsu will be auctioned, in addition to Tesmec trenchers and motor graders from Caterpillar and Volvo. Excavators and wheel loaders form Caterpillar and Komatsu, off-road trucks and a variety of attachments and accessories are available as well.
