PLEASANTON, Calif. and EAGAN, Minn. – Feb. 27, 2015 – IronPlanet, the leading online marketplace for buying and selling used heavy equipment and trucks, and Cat Auction Services, an alliance of Caterpillar and several of its independent Cat^® dealers, sold 1,430 items for $48.1 million in gross merchandise value at its live unreserved public auction in Kissimmee, Fla., which took place Feb. 11-13.

The Humvees will be sold by GovPlanet, an IronPlanet online marketplace for buying and selling used government assets, during its Feb. 18 auction at www.govplanet.com.

IronPlanet will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these showcased Humvees to Folds of Honor, a not-for-profit organization that provides post-secondary educational scholarships and assistance to the families of the military service men and women killed or disabled while in active service to America.

Last year, IronPlanet took its technology expertise to new heights with BiddingAce, a marketplace for general aviation aircraft. The site launched in June 2014 and uses IronPlanet’s technology platform to connect aircraft sellers with buyers around the world.
