IronPlanet team members David Tobon, Sue McGregor, Matt Bousky and Carson Ericsson attended the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) Annual Conference in Scottsdale, Ariz., April 2-6. The conference included more than 700 attendees, including crane and rigging operations owners, CEOs, senior managers and other industry leaders. IronPlanet team members enjoyed attending education sessions by well-known authors and speakers at the event, and networking with members of the SC&RA, customers and other industry partners.

Recently named among the fastest-growing trade shows in the U.S. by Trade Show Executive magazine, The Rental Show returned to Las Vegas this year, February 10 – 13, at The Sands Expo and Convention Center. The trade show portion of the event has been sold out since November of last year, with over 250,000 square feet of exhibit space.

Informative seminars on customer service, business management and leadership began on Sunday, February 10, while the exhibit floor opened Monday. IronPlanet participated as an exhibitor and experts in heavy equipment and used equipment values were on hand to speak to thousands of show attendees.

IronPlanet recently liquidated $6.08 million of gross merchandise volume for Western States Contracting of Myton, Utah.

“This was our biggest sale ever with IronPlanet,” said Weston Adams with Western States Contracting. “We had some very specialized equipment in this auction and we were able to get a lot more than we expected for it. IronPlanet knew the equipment and where to find the buyers. They went above and beyond, working really well with our mechanics and our entire team to make this sale a success. We are very pleased with the result.”

IronPlanet will host its weekly Featured Auction on Thursday, November 1, and this week's sale has more than 850 items available to bidders. Those in need of drill, bore and trench equipment may want to check out the listings, as there are many options for these items in this sale, including road plates, trench shields and multiple lots of drill rods. The Featured Auction includes many other items, from construction equipment such as excavators and skid steer loaders to vehicles such as dump trucks and tractor trailers. With less than 24 hours until the auction begins, it can be a good idea for interested buyers to check out the offerings, so they are prepared to bid when the goods they want reach the auction block.

IronPlanet's weekly Featured Auction is a great place for construction companies, farmers and other labor professionals to find used construction equipment and agriculture equipment for affordable prices. The October 18 sale has more than 800 items, ranging from large machinery such as excavators and compactors to smaller items including tools, parts and generators. Interested buyers can visit the IronPlanet website to browse the selection ahead of the auction and find the goods they need. They can place a Priority Bid on a particular listing or make note of its auction time to be prepared to compete for their goods when the sale begins.

IronPlanet hosted a record-setting auction March 17-18, 2011, which totaled $26.7 million in equipment sales.
